A place for us to remember him

I created this space for Eric's family and friends. It's so difficult to lose someone you love and I've been finding if I give myself projects to do in his honor it helps ease my heart. I miss him.

If you have anything special you would like to share, email me at rebamama@gmail.com and I will happily post it for you. Funny stories, pictures, whatever. Don't forget to follow this blog so you can get updates when they post. If you go to the very bottom of blog, click follow. I figure this question may come up, so just a fyi, the glass art shown on this blog is not for sale. If you find yourself here and didn't know Eric personally, just to bring you up to speed :

Eric Nelson, 30, of Missouri City, Texas, formerly of Midland Michigan, passed away with his family at his side on Tuesday, June 7th at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.   As an organ donor, Eric was able to provide for three transplants with his passing.

Eric was born in Midland, Michigan on December 23, 1980. Early in life, Eric was one of the pioneers of freestyle walking.   Eric was a lifelong artist and found his calling working with art glass.  Late into many nights you could find him in his workshop, his features glowing gently in the flame of his torch.  His intricate designs were collected nationwide, and his unique craft will be missed by many.

Eric was also an avid fan of live music.  He developed his closest friendships while on the road following the melody.  He had recently been working often on his carpentry and home remodeling skills, while lending his talents to those in need.

A beloved owner of three dogs, Eric was passionate about animals and loved nothing more than spending time with his weimaraner Roscoe.

Eric is survived by his Mother, Paula Levinson, and his father, Michael Levinson, loving stepmother Catherine Levinson, as well as his Brother Daniel Nelson II and sisters Madeline Levinson, Isabelle Levinson and Reba Nelson.  Eric was preceded in death by his father Daniel Nelson. The family asked in lieu of flowers for donations to be made to The Humane Society of Midland County  http://www.hsomc.org/

Always loving and forever loved, Eric will live on in our warmest memories.
